a-z archive: s! challenge (stairway)
Tuesday, May 8: This week’s topic for Frizztext’s A-Z Archive Tuesday’s photo challenge is the letter “S”: introduce one photo of your own archive with a “S” keyword for example SAILSHIP or swords, shades or sunflowers, stealth bombers or saxophones, seagulls or skateboards, spare-ribs or stairways, storks or seals, siesta or sadness, silence or snow patrols etc.
Here is mine: Stairway. This was taken in Kyoto, Japan at Eikan-do, with its interesting architecture, artwork, and beautiful gardens, including sand gardens.
I took off my shoes and walked in my socks on the smooth wood walkways and balconies, up and down curved staircases. I climbed the steep stairs to the Taho-to pagoda and saw a grand view of Kyoto. Gardeners were working in the gardens, pruning, planting, perfecting them. On one path, I came upon a little pond with a wooden bridge to a tiny shrine. Ducks circled in the pond and from there I could see the pagoda nestled in the mountain above.
